In all seriousness, the events that occurred on Jan. 6, 2021 were a deliberate attack on democracy. Thousands of trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to stage a coup, and in a way, isn’t this exactly how we thought the trump administration would end? During a presidency based on an ethos of violence and division, a violent mob planning to attack congress members seems on par. Mentions on social media pointed to something happening that day, and soon after, reports of Capitol police declining help from both the National Guard and FBI were coming out. And while some GOP members attempted to blame antifa (with 0 evidence to support such claims), it’s clear that these terrorists were in fact trump supporters. And while he is only in office for less than week, the House has impeached trump for the 2nd time with plans to remove him from office so that he can never hold a political position again.
